Visiting Shadui

Sorry, but for technical reasons this is being posted a day later then it was supposed to be.  I’m trying out a new gallery for viewing the pictures so you the viewer doesn’t have to open the pictures in a seperate window.

On Friday Jan 1st we went to the small town of  Shadui that Joyce’s ancestors used to live in.  They still have a old house that is 75 years old but it still in great condition.  Joyce says that her family used to visit the house every summer, but before we could visit the house we went to visit their grave and worship them.

The grave site was in the country about an hour from the city and then when we were at the villiage to get to the site we had to take a motorcycle “taxi” to get there.

Joyce’s uncle met us in the village and helped lead us to the right spot.  The motor cycle trip trip took about 15 minutes and when we got there we had to hike up a small mountain to get there.

I was able to take some pictures of the hike to the gravesite, but for religious reasons I could not take pictures at the gravesite.  The view that you are able to see from the hike was wonderful, and I wish that we had some sun so that the pictures had more color to them!

Here are some pictures of the old house that the family  used to live in.  Remember that the house is around 75 years old!
